Elks represents the West on the Medicine Wheel – Water, emotions, the shadow self, and Autumn. Elk Medicine gives us stamina and endurance — the "don't give up" attitude.
The vibration of Elk opens the third Chakra, the belly, our center of Self — our self esteem and self expression.
Elk also represents friendship as it is a communal animal, hanging out with members of the same sex except during mating season.
The Cedar tree is a powerful healing tree, and the drums constructed from Cedar carry a superior resonance and healing energy.
Cedar's Element is Fire. It has been known through out the ages for its protective qualities and is associated with healing, spirituality, purification, protection, prosperity and harmony.
The Natives of the Northwest smudged with Cedar, used Cedar tea for healing and carved their totems and canoes from this sacred wood. When a tree was taken, all parts of it were used for the healing and survival of the People.
